I’m Charlotte, a wedding calligrapher and stationery designer, living in the smallest city in England - Wells, Somerset UK.

I’m devoted to prolonging your meaningful moments with romantic and timeless calligraphy. Whether it’s designing wedding stationery or marking a special anniversary or event, a considered approach is always at the heart.

You can often find me exploring country houses and places imbued with history and natural beauty with my spaniel in tow. I could - and do - get lost in French brocantes for hours hunting for curios that tell a story. Working these inspirations into handmade wedding invitations and calligraphy gives me so much joy.

I’ve always had a love of craftsmanship and detail and relish finding beauty in the everyday. Reducing waste and surrounding myself with meaning is important to me too so my home contains a massed collection of family objects and vintage finds.

Since leaving the teaching profession on the quest for a creative life I discovered the magic of the dip pen and haven’t put it down since. I have a First-Class Degree in Fine Art so consider myself blessed to have come home to my first love.

Looking after our planet

Luxury calligraphy - or anything else - shouldn’t come at the expense of looking after our planet which is why I’m committed to living and working sustainably.

The paper I frequently use is made in a traditional paper mill in Somerset - one of the last of it’s kind in England. It’s located less than a mile from where I live and I often see it on my walks. When we know where things come from and the story it tells, then it helps us to connect on a deeper level. Your wedding stationery deserves to be more than just pieces of paper.

I’m a believer that animals should be loved and not hurt or eaten which is why none of the paper I use is sized with gelatine and all the inks are vegan.

The rest of my supplies are sourced from the UK as much as possible, like the cotton twine from Bolton and the FSC certified envelopes. Even some of my favourite nibs are made in the UK and I love to source and use vintage nibs too.

I’m pleased to say that my eco-friendly packaging is biodegradable, reducing landfill waste, and any plastic bubble wrap has been re-used.
